The location is strange but this place is such a gem!
I recommend this place to any Sushi fanatic who loves the omakase experience.
The chef and staff are always on point, the sushi is always fresh from the market and many times he gets specials from Japan.
I have been to many high-end sushi places, and Boongho doesn't fall short in comparison.
They also have private rooms where you can have a great time with a group of friends or family.
Don't ever change Boongho!!! -

It has become the boss' new tradition to round up a course by inviting the faculty at the end to this wonderful Japanese-Korean fusion restaurant. Every single time, it was a splendid culmination of beautiful arrangements, delicious dishes, and the touch of the unknown that seduced the taste buds in an incredible way and a unique table setting. Looking forward to the next course ...
PREVIOUS REVIEW: Don't get discouraged by some of the previous reviews. Yes it is expensive! Ideally find somebody like your boss to pay for you because it is definitely extremely worth it. The food is delicious and spectacular in all aspects: the quality itself, the visual arrangements, the quiet and attentive service. This is not the place to rush through as fast as possible. It is a great place for non-vegetarians to be within a group and have wonderful conversations over a splendid and never ending chain of menu items. Definitely will go again if I get a chance. -

Came here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. It was really empty when we arrived, so at first I felt a little nervous about the quality. The chef working at the sushi bar, however, told us it wasn't usually this empty on weekends and that due to the World Series, they didn't have much customers which made me feel better. On the other hand, because we were the only ones there, we had A+++ service and hospitality from the waitress and the chef.
The menu is a on the pricy side and very simple compared to other sushi spots. The place is definitely a Mom and pop shop but the restaurant interior was really beautiful. The bar was built on top quality beige granite, and along the back of the restaurant were private party floor rooms that isolated you from the table seating.
We ended up ordering the following: the mussels, tiger roll, Mexican roll, and a salmon hand roll. All were so fresh and top notch quality! Out of everything we ordered, the tiger roll was my favorite!
I definitely order from them in the future. -

Service is great. They open for dinner at 5:30. I came at 5:10 but they let me in. The man behind the sushi bar was nice to give me his personal and crowd preferences. We talked about the kinds of fish I liked and he made a recommendation (Ichiban roll). I told him I was allergic to shrimp, and that I really liked hamachi, so he replaced all the shrimp within hamachi. He was very generous with the hamachi too! It's important to note that the original assorted fish for the Ichiban roll did NOT include hamachi, so that was very thoughtful of him. It came out pretty quickly.
The place is clean. No fuss. They have these nice private rooms if you'd like a little intimacy.
The food that I ordered was okay. The fish was nice and firm, but I didn't particularly prefer the ichiban roll because it had this mayo dressing on it. Some people might like that, but I don't. It was good to try something new though, so I'm glad I ordered it. The next time I come, I'm open to ordering other things. The miso soup was comfortable. The man behind the sushi bar was telling me about how they prepare it. "not from powder!" He said. That's what they allllll say (but maybe he meant it). The sushi rice was like regular white rice. It didn't taste or feel like sushi rice so much.
My little dinner for one cost me about $20.00.
Would I come back? Yes. Would I try other things? Yes. Give it a try and see how you like it!
